I think we all know someone who just think they know everything, don’t we? I feel like this week’s release of Smarty Cat
Good morning, Oddies! Alexis here today with a little Christmas inspiration for you. Now, I know it’s getting close, but if you’re still in need of some holiday card ideas, how about an awesome 3D snow globe box?! It makes a fun and surprising holiday card with just a few sheets of paper, a bucket of glitter and of course a few Some Odd Girl Stamps.
To start, I was dying to use the new Yeti clear stamp set, and what a perfect opportunity this was. I LOVED coloring his fluffy fur and the minty colors worked great for my project.
I used the sentiment from the Yeti stamp set too, because it’s awesome and I made it red so that it is just an awesome pop of Christmas color in an otherwise monochromatic design. I used heaps of chunky clear glitter on all the snowflakes and made sure to decorate it BEFORE I assembled it into this awesome box.
Now for the card part…when it’s all expanded it makes a cool snow globe, but it also lays flat so you can put it in an envelope and mail it or include it in your package.
Cool huh? No pun intended….or was it? With all the Frozen mania out there, snowflakes are kind of the thing this year, so I went with it. And while he might not be a snow monster, I still think I’m gonna name this guy Marshmallow. Because he’s cute.
As an extra bonus, because I had left over materials and other fun stuff, I made another quick card with the Yeti stamp to coordinate with this one.
This one I used some felt and little white pom-poms to decorate it. Isn’t it sweet? It reminds me of the old school Christmas specials I used to watch when I was little.
Well, I hope you got some good ice-peration (get it *nudges*) and I can’t wait to see what last minute holiday projects you pull out this week! Whatever you do, don’t stress it! The holidays are about fun and family and whatever handmade goodies you give out this year will sure to be enjoyed because of the thought you put into them! And no matter what, stay Odd!
