It’s still 95 degrees outside, but I’ve got Christmas on the brain, eager for the cold temps, hot cocoa and boots! We only
Good morning, Oddies! Alexis here with a fun post about stamped backgrounds! I’m an admitted paper hoarder, but sometimes you want a background for your card that’s is a little bit special and more personalized than whatever is in your stash. Below, I’ve created several backgrounds using clear stamps from my (extensive) Some Odd Girl stash!
I really love how this one turned out. The spool, needle, button stamps and sentiment were all from In Stitches Tia, which is in the Retirement section now (hurry, not many left!!) The connecting thread to make it run longer across the bottom is from Artist Mae. I did a little quick coloring using my Copics and then attached matching ACTUAL buttons on top of some of the stamped buttons. Even though this is technically about backgrounds, I don’t think I’d do another thing to this!
This background was very nature inspired. I used the mushroom stamps from Pixie Dust (Also in retirement) The large daisies from Daisy Mae, and the larger and smaller flowers from Renew (In Retirement). I could see this one going with an Alice in Wonderland theme or something garden party-y!
I guess since I love coffee that makes me a hipster. At least, those are the stamps I raided for this fun background. the bottom smaller coffee cup and sentiment came from Hipster Mae, and the others came from Hipster Pets (One of my favorite sets ever). I stamped them on craft paper and then colored using Distress Inks, including the white, which I think gives an awesome look to the cups! Once the Breakfast Friends set is back in stock, I plan on putting the adorable coffee cup in the middle of this one!
Now, this one is an oldie but a goodie. I made this about a year ago using SO MANY sentiments. It felt a shame not to show it off again since it took so much work to stamp all those sentiments in all those colors! lol! If you’re counting, these are the stamps I used: Everyday Smiles, Make A Statement, Geisha Kaylee, Moulin Mae, Artist Mae, Hey Mae, Puppy Love Mae, Thank You Mae & Dare to Be Gwen
The sky is the limit with these backgrounds, so I hope you think about it next time you start to work on a project and can’t find that perfect paper pattern. Make it yourself!!
