Are you feeling cool today, Oddies? Ironically so, perhaps? Well, have I got a sneaky treat for you! Alexis here with today
Good morning, Oddies! I’m joining you here on my birthday (WOOOOOO) to celebrate with a fun tutorial. Anyone who knows me knows that I’m a cat person, and when the Clever Kittys set went up, I was over the moon excited. I take every opportunity I can to use it. For this tutorial, I wanted to make a peek-a-boo card. In it we’ll have several little openings for our little stamps to peek through and say hello.
To start, these were my supplies more or less.
We’ve got the Clever Kittys stamps (obvi) and some stacked circle dies as our main components. Easy peasy.
I started out by mapping which stamps I wanted where and die cut the smaller circles into my top sheet of paper. Then I stacked two dies and cut out my circular frames from some cream card stock, making sure it all lined up over the other circles.
Then I stamped my sentiment using Toner ink and ran it through my Minc foil machine. I’m still playing with the setting of it, so you can kind of see the ink underneath, but it still looks cool. I chose ‘Thank Mew‘ because I’ve got a LOT of thank you cards to make soon, so I might as well start now, right?
For my images I chose the mewling kitty in the corner, because he’s my fave, the gold fish, mouse toy and yarn ball. After a bit of Copic coloring I assembled them all together and voila!
I love it when a complex looking card is actually pretty simple to make. I could duplicate this same technique and actually make a few cards pretty quickly.
