When I saw Mermaid, I instantly thought of the moment in Disney’s The Little Mermaid when Ariel signs Ursula’s contract for her voice in exchange for legs. Despite this feeling, I didn’t color it traditional Ariel style because I wanted to play with a different color pallet, but I did keep a little hint of that using the music stamps from Dancer to mimic her singing and having her voice stolen.
Coloring wise though, I wanted to make her tail look iridescent and her hair look like an ocean wave. I’m so happy with how she turned out that I wanted to keep the card simple. I found great paper that matched my colors, a few sequins and my sentiment bubble.
